What's
New for CENCO
Cenco Members,
Hope you are having an enjoyable holiday and wishing you the best for
a very happy new year.
I believe by now you were able to look over the tentative schedule of
events for 2007, but I have attached a revised schedule today. We again
include two promotional clinics, one in May and another in November.
We have planned at least two Beginning Referee clinics, the first planned
for January 27, and the other in December. We have planned for at least
two Regional and one National referee clinics and testing. Regional
and National testing will be at the SJB Sensei Memorial on February
11. We again are planning a Beginning Nage-no-kata clinic in September.
We are now in the planning stages of setting up a Coaches Certification/Re-certification
clinic for some time in May.
Cenco also hosts or supports several camps throughout the year.
We are represented at least three times a year at National meetings
throughout the U.S. In 2007 we will be represented in Florida (April),
Michigan (July) and New York or Las Vegas (October).
We kick off the Judo New Year on January 13 with the Kagami Biraki in
Palo Alto. We hope that we will see you all there to help us welcome
in the new year, and at that time, challenge ourselves to do more for
the coming new year, and rededicate ourselves to our goals.
I really appreciate all the help and support in the past but hope that
you can find the energy and strength to continue your support. Please
let me know what you would like from the Ydk and what you can do for
the Ydk. I encourage you to bring in more instructors, assistant instructors
and/or key people from your clubs into the Ydk system. We are in need
of more leadership introduction, orientation and training. The leadership
of the organization is all of us volunteers and we need to continue
to train new leaders if we want to succeed and move forward. We each
can make a big difference if we just do a little more in this area.
All of us have a difficult enough time training our students but we
are also challenged to train new referees, coaches and future instructors.
Like it or not, we are also asked to be politicians. I invite you all
to attend the meetings and other events. With your input, help and support
we can make a positive difference.
Vaughn Imada, President
